The state of Washington will hold a public hearing to receive comments and information from the public related to housing and community development needs to assist in the development of the state’s 2010-2014 Consolidated Plan. The Consolidated Plan determines priorities, establishes strategic goals, and allocates resources for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funded programs administered by the state, namely: the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnership (HOME), Emergency Shelter Grants (ESG), and the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) programs.
The required elements of the state’s Consolidated Plan include:
· An assessment of housing and community development needs for the ensuing five-year period;
· An analysis of the state’s housing markets;
· A discussion of the state’s strategies, priority needs, and objectives for housing and community development activities; and,
· An action plan that describes the state’s method for distribution of 2010 funds expected to be received from HUD.

If attendance at the public hearing is not possible and you wish to comment, written or emailed comments sent to the contact listed below and received by noon, July 8, 2009 will be accepted into the public hearing record.
The entire draft 2010-2014 Consolidated Plan and draft 2010 Action Plan will be available on CTED’s website or upon request for a thirty-day public comment period beginning after September 15, 2009.
Documents related to the Consolidated Plan are available in alternative format. Meetings sponsored by CTED are accessible to persons with disabilities.
