The Local Government Division assists local governments as they make decisions on how they want to grow, then provides help by strategically funding infrastructure improvements and promoting vital public safety and cultural features that make Washington state communities safe and satisfying places to live and work. We give technical assistance to every county on growth management act (GMA) and topics such as capital facilities, critical areas, transportation, rural and urban development, economic development, environmental protection, housing, and buildable lands.
